Trawling your dark as owls do,
the sun above the mountain’s head
licked its tongue into the corners of the evening.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
in the summer twilight.

When day with evening blending
and the midnight moon is weaving,

I rise.

Let my heart be still a moment
and this mystery explore –
wild nights –
wild nights!
